Emily Middleton is a Mississippi-born artist whose love for art reaches back to her earliest memories. Working primarily in watercolor since 2018, she is drawn to the medium’s spontaneity, softness, and expressive nature. Alongside watercolor, she enjoys exploring collage, acrylic, oil, graphite and pastel, allowing each medium to bring a different voice to her work.

Inspired by nature, animals, and the emotional texture of everyday life, Emily creates art as a way to both express herself and connect with others. Birds, wildlife, and organic forms frequently find their way into her paintings, often carrying a sense of personality, symbolism, and quiet humor.

A constant companion throughout much of her artistic journey has been her beloved pet Lucy, who has been by her side since 2009.

Whether working loosely and intuitively or carefully building layers of detail, Emily approaches art with curiosity, honesty, and a deep appreciation for the beauty and strangeness of being human.
